Patent: As cold as ice!

Krypton Frozen Beverages

WHAT

Making sorbet ice from soft drinks, alcoholic drinks and energy drinks has always been a tricky business. Alcohol is difficult to freeze, energy drinks lose their kick (taurine and caffeine just disappear) and carbonated drinks lose their fizz. Yet thanks to Krypton Frozen Beverages’ latest scientific breakthrough, this is now a thing of the past. What would you say to sorbet ice that still has its original fizz or frozen alcoholic beverages that stay frozen for longer? The possibilities are endless. All kinds of drinks; pure, mixed, shaken and stirred, can now be turned into frozen beverages. To prove it works, the inventor has introduced Krypton Energy Ice, an energy popsicle, that has retained all of its energy-boosting ingredients and all of its kick.

HOW

EP&C advised Krypton Frozen Beverages, carried out literature studies and guided the entire process to ensure the patent application was submitted as quickly as possible. The client had set a short deadline for the launch of its new energy popsicle and clarity about the attainability of the patent was vital. This meant that the application needed to have been submitted before the product launch. The solution was to apply for a Dutch patent, saving costs, and waiting for the product to become a huge (international) success. At that stage, the Dutch patent application will serve as a suitable basis for any international patent applications.
