Jeroen Fluit studied natural science at the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands, and joined EP&C as a patent attorney in 2007. Previously, he worked as a patent attorney at ASML, where he saw to lawsuits in Japan, Korea and the US. He also gained experience in the patent department of Shell and at the European Patent Agency in Munich.

Jeroen is flexible and likes to think along with the client as well as push beyond the client’s ideas and expectations. "Inventors don't always ask themselves whether their idea infringes on a third party’s patent, which is often equally if not more important than applying for the patent itself. Aside from that, there are a lot of really unique ideas out there, and I enjoy using my skills as a patent attorney to obtain watertight protection for them. And once that’s been done a client cannot rest on his laurels; he needs to create a solid patent strategy that closely monitors potential patent infringement by his competitors.’
