VDL Weweler develops, manufactures and sells air suspension, axle lifts, parabolic springs and special axles for manufacturers of trailers, lorries and buses. The company, which was founded in 1924, was originally a spring manufacturer and developed into a pioneer in the field of air suspension for lorries, trailers and buses. Since the 1980s, the company has been the world leader in knowledge and engineering of advanced air suspension systems. VDL Weweler is the only European spring manufacturer to supply its own wheel axle suspension systems, air suspension system for heavy vehicles such as lorries and trailers. As a result the company has almost half of that particular market in Europe.

VDL Weweler is among the top ten Dutch SMEs with the most patent applications. EP&C not only arranges the patents for VDL Weweler, but we also advise and assist the company in its many innovations. This occasionally leads to them not applying for a patent for a new invention. VDL Weweler aims to apply for at least five patents a year.
