Robrecht de Weerdt studied Electrical Engineering at the KU in Leuven (Catholic University of Leuven), in Belgium, and has been a patent attorney at EP&C since 2007. Before joining EP&C, he worked as a patent attorney for ASML, manufacturer of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry. He wrote his thesis whilst working for Holec (Now Eaton Corporation), a company that manufactures electrical systems for power quality, distribution and control.
Robrecht enjoys keeping the peace and is interested in a wide spectrum of industries. He likes to have cases that he can really sink his teeth into: “Inventors tend to focus on their ideas, which means that patent attorneys need to focus on the bigger picture. We need to look beyond the product to provide full protection and ensure that the competition has no room to manoeuvre. This will ensure that the patent remains relevant throughout its lifespan, and that our client is able to enjoy the benefits of his creative efforts.”
