As a Patent Attorney at EP&C you will be given the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at a wide range of innovative companies: SMEs and multinationals. You will have the opportunity to speak to the inventors and management, whilst they look to you as an advisor who understands their technology and their economic interests. You are inquisitive and have an eye for detail. You listen attentively, ask critical questions and have an air of reliability and trustworthiness. You have the ability to identify quickly with all kinds of technological developments and are able to describe an invention effectively with your excellent command of the Dutch and English languages. When it comes to the defending and protecting of intellectual property rights, you are analytical, quick to get to the core of the matter, and effective at providing strategic advice. In some cases, this may include instituting legal proceedings.

In our profession it is a matter of being able to zoom in on the smallest of technical details before subsequently zooming out to understand the bigger picture. This is an essential skill when accurately drafting patent applications or giving sound legal advice. This calls for people who are creative and flexible.

With a view to adding to its broad base of experienced patent attorneys, and in order to be able to continue meeting the demand from innovative companies internationally, EP&C is looking for applicants to train as new Electrical Engineering Patent Attorneys. When it comes to the world of patents, the field of electrical engineering is a broad one, and includes electrical engineering as well as information technology and engineering physics. As a suitable candidate you will have graduated, or be about to graduate, in one of these areas.
