Isabelle Wolterink enjoys working closely with her clients and colleagues to find the best possible IP strategy for a wide range of issues. She sees her profession as a privilege because it allows her to immerse herself in and contribute to the most advanced technologies. Isabelle is enterprising, analytical, cheerful and proactive. "As a patent attorney, it is important that you are able to communicate well as you always have to get the right information from the right people. And when a client asks a question, you have to keep asking for more information until you understand the question behind the question. Because that is the only way you are going to be able to give them effective advice."
Isabelle started her career as a patent attorney at EP&C in 2003, after obtaining her Master's in Materials Science at Delft. In the more than 15 years that have passed since then, she has gained extensive experience in so-called oral proceedings. During these cases at the European Patent Office, she represents her clients in opposition proceedings against patents that have been granted.
Isabelle is also a board member of the Netherlands Institute of Patent Attorneys. In this capacity she represents the profession in various areas, including in consultations with the government and foreign professional associations. This puts her in a position to express her passion for the patent attorney profession.
