EP&C supports the Residentie Orkest The Hague’s social projects

EP&C and the Residentie Orkest The Hague have more in common than you might initially think. We both want to make a positive impact on the world. EP&C does this by protecting innovations that make the world a better place. The Residentie Orkest does so with music as well as with various social projects in The Hague. In 2024 EP&C entered into a partnership with the orchestra. This time not with a patent but with both financial and practical support.

Getting actively involved

EP&C was looking for an organisation to support over the long term. We had a clear wish when it came to this. "We care about the cultural sector and we were looking for a partner we could take our clients to. Moreover, we wanted to support an organisation in which we as EP&C staff could also get actively involved in," says EP&C's CEO.

The Residentie Orkest is involved in various social projects in The Hague. Their musicians visit the various districts of The Hague to let residents experience what music can do. They, for example, visit Vadercentrum ADAM in Laak. Here people of all ages can go to meet each other and work on developing themselves further. The CEO says: "One of the activities organised by Vadercentrum is the annual barbecue in June. The tastiest one of the year, so I have been told. We were there in 2024 with some EP&C colleagues to lend a helping hand. It's nice to be able to do more than just provide financial support."

Making music accessible

The Residentie Orkest and EP&C both have a long history with The Hague. It is great to be able to give something back to the city with one of the oldest orchestras in the Netherlands. The CEO says "Make the world a better place by starting in your own backyard. It is wonderful to have a partner so close to home with whom we can help make the world a better place." Thanks to EP&C's support twenty-five people from The Hague, who normally would not have access to a concert, will be able to attend a concert each year. "In this way music becomes accessible to them as well. Of course, we can only applaud that," he adds.

The Hague as an inclusive and inspiring city

The Residentie Orkest's mission goes beyond making beautiful music. Campaign marketer Maartje Verhoeven says: "Music is our instrument, but not our end goal. With our music we want to actively contribute towards making The Hague an inclusive, collaborative and multifaceted place in which people live with pleasure and pride. We want to be there for everyone in The Hague and connect people through our music. That's why we actively take the orchestra into the various parts of The Hague. With free community concerts, both large and small, we want to connect The Hague's residents in community centres, care institutions, at public locations and during specially organised activities, and let them enjoy the power of music."

At EP&C, we are proud to support the Residentie Orkest in this mission. We fully concur with general and artistic director Sven Arne Tepl: "Music connects, teaches people to listen and adds colour to life."
