Lucas van Gorkom

I obtained a Master of Science in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology and joined EP&C in 2021. I have now been working as a patent attorney for more than 25 years.

I am part of the high-tech team and specialize in energy (wind energy, wind turbines, offshore installation of wind turbines, solar energy, and the greening of energy grids), medical technology (medtech), high-tech, and sustainable agriculture.

From an early age, I have had an interest in both law and technology. This comes together perfectly in my role as a patent attorney. My experience at multinational companies has shown me how patents can be used strategically. In addition, I have experience with investments and acquisitions: I advise investors on the acquisition of companies with an IP portfolio and support startups and scale-ups in building a strong IP position with the aim of creating value.
