EP&C Belgium is growing and we would like you to help us shape this growth. We are looking for an experienced patent attorney who is not only strong in terms of substantive knowledge but is also a commercial thinker who sees opportunities in the market and gets energy from working with others.

Your role within EP&C

As an experienced attorney at EP&C you will be more than just an expert in patent law. You will play an important pivotal role in the team, someone who effortlessly combines substantive work with a commercial outlook and a strong sense of collaboration.

You will be working with clients who are in the process of developing their business: startups, SMEs and other innovative companies. You will not only help them protect their inventions but also help them make strategic decisions. At the same time you will help put EP&C on the map more in Belgium.

Your work will include:
•    Bouwen aan de verdere groei van EP&C België – inhoudelijk, commercieel en als team.
•    Building on the continued growth of EP&C Belgium - substantively, commercially and as a team.
•    Acquiring new clients and building long-term relationships.
•    Advising innovative entrepreneurs on how to protect and use their intellectual property.
•    Inspiring and mentoring colleagues, for example in relation to meetings and commercial opportunities.
•    Writing, filing and defending patent applications both at home and abroad.

What we are looking for in you

We are not looking for a run-of-the-mill  profile but for someone with a clear drive. Someone who enjoys working together with others but also likes to do things independently. Who likes to take the initiative and gets a kick out of growth, irrespective of whether that growth involves a client, a colleague or EP&C Belgium.

You recognise yourself in the following:
•    You are an experienced European patent attorney. If you have a Belgian qualification then that would be a plus.
•    You have a strong commercial sense and enjoy actively looking for new clients.
•    You like to work together with others and naturally include colleagues in your approach.
•    You feel at home in the Flemish market and preferably already have a network in the region.
•    You have excellent oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.
•    You have a technical background, for example in physics, mechanics, electrical engineering or software.
