At EP&C we ensure that smart ideas don't go to waste. As a Formalities Officer you’d play an important role in this. You’d keep the patent process tightly organised so that inventions – large or small – are properly protected on time. Together with your team you’d ensure that innovations become tangible today and meaningful tomorrow.

Your role within EP&C

You would be supporting our patent attorneys in every step of the application process. You’d manage files, monitor deadlines and communicate with clients, foreign agents and official bodies. With your accuracy and eye for detail you’d ensure that everything runs smoothly, from starting a file to submitting an application.

Your work would include

• Monitoring deadlines and ensuring that all administrative steps are completed on time.
• Submitting patent applications and arranging all follow-up steps.
• Maintaining contact with clients, foreign agents and patent councils.
• Managing the mailbox, checking documents and answering client questions.

What we are looking for in you

You are meticulous and tenacious when you need information. You switch easily between different tasks and remain calm when under deadline pressure. You work well with others and ensure that processes run smoothly.

You recognise yourself in the following:

• Professional and intellectual ability at higher secondary/pre-university education level or have successfully completed a secretarial, administrative or legal course at senior secondary vocational education level.
• At least 3-5 years of experience as a Formalities Officer.
• Certification as a Formalities Officer.
• Interest in legal proceedings.
• Experience with process-based working.
• A good command of spoken and written Dutch and English.

What you can expect from us

At EP&C we work in small teams with fixed pairs of patent attorneys and Formalities Officers. You’d join the Team Boyle Patent Support team - a close-knit group of professionals who keep each other sharp and help each other out. You’d have a lot of responsibility, but you’d never be on your own. This is not a regular administrative job but a role in which you’d continue to learn.

• A one-year contract for 30 to 37.5 hours per week.
