"I quickly get a good grasp of the details and in this job these relate to both the technical and legal side of innovations."
One thing Jasper Vrijenhoek was quite sure about when it came to what he did not want to do after completing his Aerospace Engineering studies at Delft University of Technology in 2023 was to work as an engineer. He is more interested in the business side of engineering and in ways that it can contribute to your business. He has been able to follow his interests at EP&C where he has been working as a Trainee Patent Attorney since 1 March 2023. "I have a technical background but also find law really interesting. I initially hesitated between studying law and what I ultimately ended up studying. The job of a Patent Attorney is a nice combination of the two. I quickly get a good grasp of the details and in this job these relate to both the technical and legal side of innovations."
In terms of personality, Jasper describes himself as friendly, helpful and someone who is naturally quick to take charge. "I work well with others and enjoy helping people. This is also what appeals to me about dealing with clients. Helping companies move forward by making sure their intellectual property is well taken care of."
Jasper gained valuable experience during his internship in the R&D department at Huisman. "At Huisman as well as during my studies, I learned to work in a very focussed, meticulous and detailed manner. This is also important in the work of a patent attorney. I find it easy to identify technical problems and don't easily overlook things. With these qualities I can help my future clients move forward."
