Position in the organisation
EP&C is an organisation with partners who actively participate in the workplace and are also shareholders. Within this organisation the Managing Director acts as a pivot between the partner group and the internal organisation. The Managing Director is in charge of the internal organisation and has ultimate responsibility for the staff departments People & Organisation, IT (application management), Finance, Business Development (Marketing and Communication) and Facilities. The Managing Director is the chair of the organisation's Board, which comprises the Managing Director and two managing partners who together are accountable to the AGM. The Managing Director also attends partner group meetings.
Role
EP&C is looking for a Managing Director who is able to give the internal organisation more structure by optimising and innovating processes and systems. In short, someone who will put the business in order. The organisation has the ambition to grow steadily; the new director will be asked to help build the organisation with a focus on ensuring continuity and sound financial policies. EP&C is looking for a proactive manager with a business profile and who is also financially well-versed.
Someone who is analytically strong, works lean and mean, who ensures effective reporting and reports and manages accordingly. Someone who will be a sparring partner for the partner group when it comes to strategic choices and who knows how to translate strategy into operational plans and concrete actions. This director is businesslike, is not afraid to make decisions and knows how to get people on board without losing sight of the connection and the human aspect.
A solid personality, operationally strong, who has a good feel for the organisation's playing field, who is strong in stakeholder management and is able to create support for change. Someone who is a discussion partner at all levels and can communicate easily with the managing partners and the rest of the organisation, who is approachable and safeguards the culture and cohesion of the organisation.
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for the optimal management and development of business operations, namely the structure, quality, efficiency and improvement of all (new) work processes within the internal organisation.
- Monitors the quality and results of work processes and innovates their implementation through modern IT solutions and process improvements (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Responsible for sound financial policies and achieving financial targets. Providing reports, budget and financial statements.
- Provides coaching and inspirational leadership to employees.
- Translates strategy into objectives, monitors their implementation and progress and makes adjustments where necessary.
- Ensures adequate communication and information exchanges with the partner group and internal organisation.
- Conducts risk analyses as a basis for improvement proposals.
- Advises the partner group on strategy and informs the operation on cost, quality, processes and risks.
Profile and personal qualities
- Successfully completed university degree (in business or finance) and relevant management experience within professional services.
- Sound knowledge of organisational processes, strategic management and finance.
- Affinity with IT developments, data and HR.
- Demonstrable experience in transition processes.
- Able to communicate and respond at various levels.
- Experience in stakeholder management with a natural flair for relationships within a partner structure.
- Unifying and approachable, who promotes, oversees and communicates the culture, atmosphere and cohesion of the organisation.
- A feel for the market in which EP&C operates and the ability to position the organisation within it.
- Good command of both written and spoken Dutch and English.
