You get a kick out of numbers and Excel and your sharp focus on details ensures that the (financial) records are always first rate. You will be partly responsible for the correct processing of incoming invoices, accounts receivable and accounts payable. You can do this in just about any Finance Assistant job, but at EP&C it is extra special. This is because you work in an interesting industry that is focused on protecting inventions. And even if you don't actually work on patents yourself, you will be working in an innovative environment where job satisfaction and people focus are key.
The work of a Finance Assistant in short:

  • Payment of purchase invoices and processing of bank and cash transactions
  • Accounts receivable management
  • Reconciling the suspense accounts
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and analyses
  • Helping to improve financial processes
  • Helping to draw up annual accounts, VAT returns and sales reports
  •  Assisting the Financial Controller where necessary

Sandra Kruijer, Financial Controller: "What I like about EP&C is that it is not a run of the mill company and this job has a lot going for it. I am still learning new things every day. For example, we work with three different programs to ensure that everything runs smoothly. I like that variety."

Where innovation meets law, this is where the magic happens. EP&C Patent Attorneys is this place. We are the patent agency that looks beyond technology. We help innovative entrepreneurs manage their intellectual property. This consists not only of a patent application or design protection, but also of monitoring rights, dealing with infringement allegations and sharing thoughts on innovations.

With over ninety employees and five offices in the Benelux, EP&C is a leading, contemporary organisation. EP&C has a friendly and informal culture. People have lunch together and have a laugh from time to time but also work hard. At EP&C we value a good work-life balance. We look after each other and focus on your professional and personal development.

There are five people in the Finance Team. The Financial Controller is in charge of the day-to-day running. The department has an open and friendly atmosphere. Duties are taken up after consultation, everyone is there for each other and there is time to just have a laugh every now and then. On top of that there is a good work-life balance. For us that is also part of our job satisfaction.

Yes, of course you are good at Excel, are able to quickly switch between programs and are proactive. You will probably come across that in all jobs that are advertised. But what do you really need to be successful as a Finance Assistant? We find that analytical skills and an eye for detail are indispensable.

You will also need:

  • Several years of relevant work experience in financial administration
  • A good command of Dutch and English
  • Ambition to develop further

Employee appreciation is important to us at EP&C. Just like your development and health. That is why we offer you the following employment conditions:

  • An attractive salary (from € 2,800 to € 4,000 based on a full time working week (37.5 hours)).
  • A 13th month and 8% holiday pay.
  • An annual contract for 32 - 37.5 hours per week with the prospect of a permanent contract.
